Why am I accused of being a racist for thinking Vietnamese is one hell of an ugly language?
If you ask anyone familiar with the Asian languages, he/she will most likely agree with me. Vietnamese and Cantonese are among the worst languages that I've ever heard. They sound like pigs yelling or snorting. Koreans and Japanese are the best

I think as long as you are white and speak English you are accused of being racist. We are not allowed to have opinions on other cultures or languages anymore. I passed a Vietnamese man today squatting near a garden. As I went past he let off a huge fart even though he knew we were there. It was disgusting. Am I racist? If I told you the same story about a white man I wouldn’t be. As long as you don’t incite hatred I think you should be able to voice your opinion….

it’s not racist, you didn’t say you didn’t like them as a people Like I personaly don’t like German, but im cool with German people.

Do you even understand the Vietnamese language? If not, I highly doubt it’s your place to judge.

I won’t call you racist, but that is a tad bit biased. I bet they think the same thing about your language.

What about those people in the jungle that make clicking sounds?
Today you can say anything little negative thing about someone that isn’t of your own race and your are called a racist. People are way to sensitive today and let themselves get offending fast. People need to laugh more. Laugh at themselves. I think all the Asian languages are odd sounding because I think they sound more like ’sounds’ than ‘words’. But I speak American English and we misuse many words.
I like German, some French, Italian, and men with Australian accents.

i think French is a beautiful language, but only when girls speak it. men just sound like pussies hahah
but German sounds the most bad-ass
Russian sounds the most scary
British sounds the most fancy (typical stereotype hah)
and Californian sounds most chilled-out. LOL

That’s not racist at all.
I don’t like the way German sounds. It’s rough. I’m sure there are people that don’t like English, and I don’t care.
Jay: Common sense and spelling simple words usually learned in third grade usually go hand in hand.

Vietnamese and Cantonese are the ugliest languages that I have ever heard. The rest of Far East languages are very ugly and annoying too.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. All I know is Vietnamese tend to have perfect pitch for this reason.

Anyway, you have every right to have an opinion , and others have every right to criticize you for it. You can swing your arms only as far as it won’t hit another person. Once it does, however, that person has a right to say something about it.
They may have assumed what you said was racist because Vietnamese is spoken PRIMARILY by Vietnamese ppl. Its not to far a leap to assume you don’t like something about the ppl. It not like saying English is harsh or French to delicate, because those languages are spoken by a rainbow of ppl. I’m surprised you don’t see any arrogance in your statement.

Speaking of Bias:
you know, i was asking myself the other day about my interest in learning French. For me, learning French sounds interesting because of its association with high class, fashion and the "chic" factor (Impress all your friends,LOL). Plus, I love cartoons in French ( I’m a grown kid, so sue me)!!!
However, as a brown skinned person, people would assume I was from Haiti or Africa if I spoke fluent French (and we all know the associations with those places).
I wonder to myself, why is it that , for me, there is little to no "chic" factor?
I’m not even from the Caribbean or Africa, but ppl would assume so. As this person was asking:

As a Spanish speaker (2nd language), I could learn French at a deep discount because its SO similar to Spanish ( they are both romance languages).
