I work at a law office that gets alot of Vietnamese clients. It would really help for me to learn the language. Any help would be really appreciated.

I would buy a book with CDs.
Personally I’ve got Teach Yourself Vietnamese.

I grew up learning it, so I can’t really say. But, it would be appropriate of me to leave a few tips:
There is no conjugation! Which makes thing easier…
The language is basically a giant song with staff notes. Accent symbols are very, very important… pronunciation would be the most difficult part.
No word has more than one syllable.
