Ok so my dad knows a vietnamese man who can speak chinese very well. But he is not a Wah Kiu (Chinese person with Vietnamese nationality). Anyways he told us that 31 years ago, he came to America by boat from Thailand. Do vietnamese people still come by boat today, and why does he had to go to Thailand to take a boat to America?

Such as Japan, Thailand, SIngapore and Vietnam, where people don't speak Korean?

Incidentally, Which one is considered more useful or helpful ?

May be I didn't explain it very well. I'm searching for percentage of Vietnamese who speak English in Vietnam:)

I feel shamed to ask "Do you know Thailand ?" I am Thai. I found that Vietnamese and Indonesia language are available in Google translation machine but Thai. I think in South East Asia several countries such as Laos Cambodia Singapore Myanmar Vietnam Malaysia and China support studying Thai language. However, There are not much programs to promote study Thai or other applications for instance translation, dictionary, reading machine or OCR.
When I register the websites, they want me to inform the language but there is no Thai provided. What happened? Maybe my language is a minority of world language use.

I know this is an odd question, but I'm planning a trip to Vietnam and Thailand and looking to stop in Cambodia while I'm there but I would like to learn the language before I do. So I wanted to know is there a universal dialect used, like if I learn Vietnamese I'll be ok in all three places or do I need to learn a different language in all three countries, thanks in advance!

I'm leaving in Thailand and have used Yahoo Mail (English version) for serveral years. I accessed Yahoo mail in Vientam last year. Since then, it has turned to Yahoo Mail in Vietnamese language every time I sing in. I don't understand Vietnamese menu.
