So why are many people (including many Vietnamese) still referring to Vietnam as a tiny country when it's bigger and more populated than many major world powers? Are they ill-informed (for most non-Vietnamese) or having an inferiority complex (for most Vietnamese) or both?

Anyways some time ago me and my friend who's from pakistan got into a debate whether Pakis, afghans, etc. are asian or Arab.
She considers herself 100% asian and brags about it all day.
(Yes, every body should be proud of their race but she talks about it 24/7.....)
Then This dummy said something racist to my korean friend. She wasn't offended, she just brushed it off. Whereas my paki friend got all pissed and kept talking about how he shouldn't talk about her like that
and then she brought out the asian pride stuff....
Yes I'm aware Geographically they are asian. But some people say their not and their arab and asians are vietnamese, koreans, chniese, etc...?
I started wondering about this when these two incidents happened...

A better question would be why do Vietnamese youth want to be Korean and are ashamed of their roots? My cousin is exactly like this. Is it media influence? Do their parents raise them to hate the Vietnamese (the Vietnamese youth I speak of are usually U.S. citizens)? I ask because many Vietnamese people despise their government, and as a result, they despise their own people.
Many Koreans don't even like the Vietnamese because they view them as an inferior nation, let alone race of people.

Western Europeans wrote all their texts in Latin. The Russians used old church Slavonic and Greek. The Indians used Sanskrit. East Asians(Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese) used Classical Chinese, but no one wrote and read in their native language. What was the point in writing in these very artificial languages?

Okay, so I'm vietnamese/white. I go to a basically an all white school. My best friend is full viet and so yeah. This guy told us we were ugly Koreans and then left. My best friend ignored it, but I thought it was racist. Then another guy called me coco puffs and then another girl called me wheat bread and then they just basically made fun of me. They said my eyes are too squinty and that my voice sounded really annoying and they yelled at me when I would talk to my best friend in vietnamese. why do people do this! This didn't happen in elemetary, and this is middle school, but why are people mean to viets and koreans! help

Based on what I've heard, they both sound like 24-hour hate stations that call for the execution of gays, blacks, Mexicans, and other minorities (except for Cubans, Venezuelans, Vietnamese, and Koreans, who actually vote conservative)? And also they believe that the US should cut itself off from the mainland somehow, and mysteriously float out to sea? (To prevent any further illegal immigration?) If you ask anyone familiar with the Asian languages, he/she will most likely agree with me. Vietnamese and Cantonese are among the worst languages that I've ever heard. They sound like pigs yelling or snorting. Koreans and Japanese are the best
