I realllllllllly want to move from the USA to Vietnam, namely Hue/Da nang but I'd settle for a big city or even a smaller one. My questions are these..
1. What do I do for employment/income. I know teaching english is the popular answer but without the TEFL cert. it will be hard to find a job, let alone one that pays well enough to enjoy life.
2. Living? Apartments, houses.. whats the situation and most likely type of housing I would be able to find.
3. Language barrier. I don't speak a bit of Vietnamese.. obviously after so much time there I would pick up the language, but what to do until then?
4. Finally... I am a white boy american. How will I be treated by locals and by others there? I have visited once before and was treated very kindly but that was because I was a tourist and they wanted my money!
Thanks
I see you are a prick regardless of where you live. Thanks for the serious answer! I just loved the culture and have spent much time in other parts of asia but found Vietnam to be my favorite location in Asia. I have more skills in my pinky then you probably do in your body, I just don't speak the language is all. That doesn't seem to stop the 10952308 mexicans which move into my country illegaly everyday. Go jump off a cliff thanks.

I'm 17 years old, American girl, working hard my senior year...
My dream has always been to teach english in Vietnam, Japan, or some other Asian country. I love learning foreign languages and about the culture of different countries. Are there any programs that could help me get a job doing this?
Thank you!

I'm a high school sophomore. I can speak Vietnamese, English, Chinese and a little Spanish. I'm gonna learn some new languages soon. I like travel a lot. I want to go everywhere all around the world, learn their cultures, see the heritages.... But I don't know what job is the best for me? My parents want me to be a dentist to have more money and then travel. I have no idea.

I used to be an accountant, a secretary, a planner 10 years ago. i have taught English for 10 years. I like training. My appearance is small but i am ambitious, hardworking. I am single. I am 41. I like working. I am working as a translator in a law office and as a teacher in foreign language centers. I plan to work oversea for some years to get higher level in English and business administration as well. I will return Vietnam and join to an international company as an administrative manager or human resource manager. My life will be more confortable. Or if my job is good enough in the US I will stay work longer. I will always work well at any where. My aim is opening my mind, traveling, saving money for my retire. I want to be a useful person. I got BA in English in HoChiMinhCty,Vietnam. I think it is not enough. I can work in a university and learn business or i can work for any company to get experience. I have had this planning for a long time but i hace had no chance.pls advice me

So I'm thinking about studying abroad or moving to either place in the near future.
I plan on studying the languages too. So I'm an Asian-American 100 percent Vietnamese though and I speak Vietnamese (I don't think it'll help me there though :/ )
I'm wondering will I be able to find a job there if I move there?
