How Can I Get A Chinese Girlfriend?

I'm Vietnamese i know to speak a little mandarin/cantonese and i was wondering what is a best way to get a chinese girlfriend? Or Vietnamese Girlfriend? Should i go to a chinatown and talk to girls?

If you ask anyone familiar with the Asian languages, he/she will most likely agree with me. Vietnamese and Cantonese are among the worst languages that I've ever heard.
Dude. I'm Asian. Can I be racist to my own race?
Ah yes. Chinese is just as terrible. Too bad I have to live with that. If I had a choice, I'd be born a Korean or a Japanese.

Hi guys, I am looking for part-time job. I am currently live in Houston (Sugar Land) TX and a HCC student in Stafford area. I can speak four languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and English. I have applied many places, but no luck.. One thing suck is when I am finished interview with manager or interviewer, he/she told me that he/she would call me few days later.. Until now (1-2 weeks already), I didn't get their call yet.. I am desperated and looking for part-time job like cashier, server, waiter, office job or any other available job if they train me. The only job I have worked is office clerk, which is from summer job program for student when I was still in high school..
If you have know some where else is hiring or some trick to get hired, or you are hiring/have some opening job, let me know. Thanks.

They also said it is possibly that i'm the only vietnamese who is half chinese, is this true ?? Because so far as i know in my town there is no one else who is half chinese. This just be my opinion, but I'm a Cantonese speaker and people say that Vietnamese sounds like Cantonese (vice versa) all the time because of the "Ng" sound in a lot of words.

I can understand and speak Mandarin to a certain extent but I've been listening to people speak Korean lately (in dramas) and it sounds kind of like Mandarin.

Is it just me or do you think so too?

And explain the relationship between these languages ,such as korean,Japanese,Mandarin,Cantonese,Shanghai dialect,Vietnamese language ,tibet langue.
As for pronunciation, Since I know a little Japanese, I find Japanese is very similar to Shanghai dialect, and Cantonese is similar to vietnam language. Tibet language is very simlar to north Chinese.while korean is very different, i haven't find a similarity, in fact it quiet different from all other lanages, there are all monosyllabic.
all these are my senses, are there a professional to answer the question?

I already know canto but I was thinking of learning Viet. But first I need to know if it is harder to learn? Which is harder to learn, Viet or Cantonese?

I speak English... duh obviously Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, French, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and learning Greek right now.

What do you speak? Challenge me and in two weeks I can speak that language. In fact, we can speak any language we want. Well, at least I have this ability.
My challenge for you: can you speak all those languages, learn some more and still be humble?

Are you trying to compare me with Moses? No, I'm not humble since I'm 29 and have lots to learn.
Dutch, you'll never learn dutch like the real dutchman, try say Scheveningen, you can't, obviously :-) You pompous little man :-)

Lol. Can you say "NO"? It's the hardest word to everyone. If you haven't come to your sense yet, then you say it's easy, you pretentious big man. :)
Hey The Corinthian, are you a fan or a player of the Corinthians soccer team? I played in this team in 2006.

Should I just change my ethnicity to Vietnamese?

When people ask me where my parents are from, I say Vietnam but that we're Chinese though. From my appearance, many people guess Vietnamese and I have to go through the same explanation again haha.

My parents can speak Vietnamese but I can only speak Cantonese and Mandarin besides English. I do have an ear for identifying Vietnamese but that's about it. My household eats Chinese and Vietnamese food. I know quite a number of Vietnamese dishes and very little of the Vietnamese language. I plan to learn Vietnamese not too far in the future. My parents express a desire to visit Vietnam again but nothing about China.

I don't have any relatives that work in a nail salon or laundromat.. haha so what do you think I should identify as?
I was born in the U.S.

do u speak another language other then English?

i can speak vietnamese and cantonese

Okay so i was just wondering if ur Vietnamese and you can speak Cantonese fluently & you want to work for tvb as an actress do you think they would let you? Even though your not Chinese?

Do you think Cantonese sound like Vietnamese?

ok...is it just me or foreal
sometime when i watch cantonese movie a show...
when i dont really pay attention to it..i thought they were speaking in vietnamese

what is ur opinion?

How to speak Chinese with a Taiwanese accent?

I'm meeting my boyfriend's parents who prefer a girl who can speak Mandarin, so I'm trying to learn some basic phrases (hello aunty, how are you, etc) I'm Vietnamese and 1/4 Chinese, though I speak neither languages.

My Taiwanese friends have been coaching me but I'm still having trouble maintaining the accent.. any how to videos or something?

thanks :)
(p.s. not cantonese or mainland Chinese accents please)

How many language can you speak?

I can speak 4 languages including English, Cantonese, Teochew, and Vietnamese.

What race are you and what language do you speak?

I'm Asian. 50% Chinese (Fujianese/Cantonese) 50% Vietnamese and I speak English and Cantonese.

I am learning mandarin. Next language i wish pick up cantonese (romanized) or vitenamese...I already try thai but its too hard...What would you suggest to learn?

many times i think they are chinese because i'm chinese but seems more than 50% of the time they are vietnamese who just speak cantonese and or mandarin.

Asians out there, do you speak your native language?

I'm myself (Vietnamese) mixed Chino (Cantonese) and I can't speak a word of Vietnamese. I consider myself an American born Vietnamese.

My parents never taught me Vietnamese. I heard most French Vietnamese people don't speak Vietnamese.

I'm 17 and I feel isolated from most Vietnamese people.

I feel like the only Asian guy out there who doesn't speak his own language.

How about you?
How do you coupe with this?
I need words of encouragement.

Would learning Vietnamese be hard for me?

I was born in Vietnam and I'm a "Hoa" which is like Chinese/Vietnamese. The language my parents and I speak are Cantonese. They know how to speak Vietnamese. I also know Mandarin but still learning. Would it be difficult for me to learn Vietnamese even though I know Chinese? I heard Vietnamese and Chinese are similar.. I'm 13 btw.

I'm rehearsing for a play called "Skin and Liars," by Dennis Foon, I play Lo. There are a few lines that are Cantonese, but I personally prefer Mandarin, since it's easier for me. My teacher disagreed and said she'll only accept if it's geographically correct, so...

If a Chinese person was born in Hanoi, North Vietnam, would they speak Cantonese or Mandarin?

Note: I cannot change this to Vietnamese.

I'm learning Mandarin, but want to learn Vietnamese too. If most of it comes from Mandarin, I'll probably hold off so I can get more transfer when I go for Vietnamese. But if it comes mostly from Cantonese, I guess I could learn both at the same time and if so, would this help me at all with Cantonese, should I learn that further off in the future?

If you ask anyone familiar with the Asian languages, he/she will most likely agree with me. Vietnamese and Cantonese are among the worst languages that I've ever heard. They sound like pigs yelling or snorting. Koreans and Japanese are the best

I had this dream where a white guy from the army was speaking in Vietnamese to my mom...and my mom was talking in Vietnamese to him but she spoke in Cantonese to me. How is that I do not speak Vietnamese but people were speaking in Vietnamese in my dream? Well I can count some numbers in Vietnamese and that's about it.

do people in vietnam speak Chinese?

do people in Vietnam speak Chinese?
Even as a second language?
Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese

Question for people who don’t speak Vietnamese?

Ok so I was born in Vietnam, have 19 years speaking Vietnamese. 'Cause it's my first language so I don't know how it sounds to the foreigners. Does it sound cute, or funny? Does it sound like Cambodian or Cantonese?

Do many people in Vietnam speak Cantonese?

I was just wondering, because I know someone whose parents were from Vietnam. He actually doesn't even speak Vietnamese - but he does speak Cantonese. Thanks.
