Please don't say I'm racist, that's the last thing I ever want to be thank you very much.
Anyways some time ago me and my friend who's from pakistan got into a debate whether Pakis, afghans, etc. are asian or Arab.
She considers herself 100% asian and brags about it all day.
(Yes, every body should be proud of their race but she talks about it 24/7.....)
Then This dummy said something racist to my korean friend. She wasn't offended, she just brushed it off. Whereas my paki friend got all pissed and kept talking about how he shouldn't talk about her like that
and then she brought out the asian pride stuff....
Yes I'm aware Geographically they are asian. But some people say their not and their arab and asians are vietnamese, koreans, chniese, etc...?
I started wondering about this when these two incidents happened...

Help..?

im the only white kid in my school. Its mostly mexicans and Asians. I don't speak spanish or Vietnamese so i don't fit in, is there any way i can deal with this or am i just gonna have to deal with it. I mostly hang out with asians because the majority of the mexicans deal/smoke drugs. and to be honest im getting tired of the "im white so im a cop" jokes.

I'm Vietnamese

and I always get Chinese, Japanese, and Korean people speaking to me in whatever language they speak! It's frustrating because even when I'm with OTHER asians... they come up to me.

I don't get it.

Africans or African Americans. Some of the Asians are 4th and 5th Generations and they do not speak Chinese, Japanese Korean, Vietnamese, Thai or any of the other languages from Asia. But you refuse to give people of African descent the same level of respect. Why is that? Are you Racist or what?
FYI, Many Chinese Families have been here since the 1870s when the Railroads were being built.

there's this asian girl in my school, I really thought she was Japanese because she has Japanese features but I found out she's vietnamese after speaking fluent Vietnamese to her dad !

obvisiously, most white people can't tell the difference between Asians.

that is why I only wanted to ask Asian people specifically Vietnamese.

Obviously there are white people living in these countries. But are there any white people who are actual citizens of these countries? Any whites who speak an Asian language as their first language and are culturally identical to the Asians in that country.

Ive always felt this way but I was watching Hogan Knows Best last night (an episode ive seen before but never saw all the way through) and they moved from somwhere else in Florida, to Miami Florida a few months back. And theyre all goin out, trying to go to the gas station, and even in well known chain stores (The GNC Live Well store that sells vitamins and such) and no one spoke a lick of english...NO ONE..IN MIAMI FLORIDA! In the United States! Isnt that stupid? Terry (hulk) was tryin to buy vitamins at a store chain he always goes to and hes asking "is there some one in here who can speak english?" and the bitch knows she understood him, so he gives up and tries to work with her any ways, asking for diff types of vitamins and he says the name in english and this dumb ass is telling him no and sayin it in spanish. I dont see how he didnt loose his temper. Even in subway...she said everything in spanish asking him if he wanted it toasted or not and what he wanted on it. knowin this blonde guy doesnt speak a word in spanish. I mean sure, lots of kids take spanish in middle school and high school..and a lot of people in America population can speak enough spanish to 'get by' in mexico(even me)..so why cant they learn enough to 'get by' here?

Why is it that when/if I look in the newspaper or online at job sites half of the jobs in this valley(Funky ass Fresno, central valley ca) say bilingual preferred? Why should I learn a language other than english to get by in my country just because immigrants dont know english? And its mainly mexican/hispanics, whatever you wanna call it. Im not racist, I ahve friends of almost every back ground. but I dont see asians trying to make us learn chinese or vietnamese or anything else that they speak. Most of them do their best to learn a few basic words, and some watch tv and pick up on it like its nothing. The others who stick to their culture have a kid or some one in their family with them translate, and then they eventually pick up on it effortlessly. Its not fair and its not right.. Does the O.C. have this problem? If they do Im sure its not one fourth as bad as fresno's problem..and I cant wait to move out of here.

The way the most of these people act is sickening to me..I dont see how you can come to a country, knowing what its like, knowing that the language is something other than your own and still not make an effort to learn it so that you can talk to every one (im sure..i KNOW most of this country speaks english). Its just a total piss off..I dont know what this country is coming to..people are getting fined for flying their country's flag on their property IN the country (Donald trump included..he had his u.s. flag on some property in FL too..and they fine him a little more than 00 a day...like he cares...he can blow his nose with that..) I just dont understand Why....Why is it so hard to adapt? Why are people allowing this type of thing go on?

Why should I learn to speak spanish in my own country?

Are there a lot of mixed races in Vietnam?

I don't look Vietnamese at all but whenever I go to a Viet market or festival they speak to me in Vietnamese. I ask why. They say it's because I look like the mixed white-Asians. Firstly, are there so many over there and did many immigrate to Western countries. Secondly, do they think I'm old (mid-30s)? I assume the mixed races would be products from Vietnam. I'm in my late 20s. :(
It's a huge market, like a Wal-mart. All races shop there.

In school, people are always like "Omg, she's attacking me with her calculator!"
"You chink, open your eyes."
"Shut up you fob."
"What are you doing in summer school, you're Asian!"
These kinds of people really p!sses me off.
I mean, Asians have feelings too, don't you think?
Many people, especially Hispanics, call me and other Asians fobs, but I barely speak Vietnamese to my parents.

I have read in some articles that he was born in Vietnam, and in other articles they say he was born in China. I'm just curious to know which Asian community will do the mourning. It is interesting because Henry Lee faced the exact same obstacles as Cho (both were Asians learning a new language, culture, ect). But Lee did not become a raving lunatic bent on revenge. Instead, Henry Lee was a real winner, exactly the opposite of Cho.

I am just curious bc I am am african american woman and I have had 3 Asian Guys who have wanted to date me. All three of them have been Vietnamese Men,
Out of curiosity are the Vietnamese more tolerate towards interracial dating than other types of Asians. Also what are Vietnamese Men like, especially when it comes to culture and what not? Do they prefer the traditional lifestyle in which woman stays at home, man works? Do they marry early. I am just trying to find out some basic information about Vietnamese Culture.

I also know that this guy who likes me is 23 and he has been over in the States for quite some time, however he does still have an accent and speak Vietnamese. He told me in Vietnam how lighter skin is prized versus a darker complexion, however he always tells me how beautiful my color is and jokingly said that we'd make some cute 'blasian babies, haha
i have not been with them at all. They just wanted to date me.
I am actually 21 and still a virgin and have great morals, so none of them have used me, but they have been attracted to me and wanted to pursue me. The most recent guy also was engaged to his EX who was a black woman. So no they do not always go back to their roots so to speak.

Vietnamese guy dating a Japanese girl?

I like this Japanese girl so bad, i've noticed that most Japanese girls are shy, respectful, polite, and also are very pretty. But there's just one thing, i've made a search around the web, and have found that Japanese females usually prefer Caucasians than Asians (yes, even Japanese male). I'm Vietnamese, but not full, I'm 50%Chinese,25%Vietnamese,25%Cambodian, but because i lived in Vietnam, and could speak Vietnamese pretty well, so i just call myself Vietnamese.
I really like her personalities, she's so cute when she talks to me, she's so nice to everyone, she's so smart, also, and of course, she's pretty. But should i ask her out? I'm afraid that she will say no, because of the reason above, but i'm not sure. Many guys like her so much, and also have said that only the luckiest guy in the world would be her boyfriend. I"m kind of disappointed because i'm kind of short, i'm 5'5, and she's 5'8.
She's a really good person. I talk to her everyday, and she's always nice to me. Help me !

I just think it's very odd that thus far I have only had Vietnamese Asians attempt to date me, which leads me to think that the Vietnamese are more likely to date oustide their race.
wow, well maybe asian (vietnamese) are just attracted to me.

I'm an American born Vietnamese. I have no accent when I speak in English and I don't know how to speak Vietnamese at home.

My parents never taught us to speak Vietnamese. I can somewhat understand Vietnamese but never speak it. I can only say basic stuff like "Ma" and "Ba". Mother and father.

Am I the only one here and is it common?

I need words of encouragement.
sorry girl mix people don't count. this is for pure asians only.

@thisisme White
I never met them.LOL I really don't care and it won't change my identity anyway unless I find out I'm adopted. That would be a shocker but I'm not.

Really just curious if they are a lot of mixed people in Vietnam since that's what I'm mistaken for and also if I look older because aren't the mixed-Viets 35+. Do they really think I'm that old. :(

i've only heard chino for chinese
but not all asians are chinese!
