My father’s second marriage was to a wonderful Vietnamese woman. My half sister was lucky enough to be able to speak some Vietnamese.
I would suggest to you that you ask your parents to teach you their native language. Canada is a vast and wondrous multi-cultural country. Having the ability to communicate in a second language is something that is an asset in many companies.
The Vietnamese population is growing steadily within Canada and having a working knowledge of your second language will be an asset to you in many fields of employment.

yes. It’s always good to know your language. It could be sad if you are the last from your family to know Vietnamese.
