Please read if you speak English AND Vietnamese?
My brother is adopting a boy from Vietnam, and he is going to name the baby Quinn.
Can you tell me if there is a Vietnamese word that is pronounced the same as "Quinn" (in English), and if so, what does it mean? We've tried to look it up, but we really have no idea how to pronounce anything, so looking up spelling doesn't do much good.
Thank you.
What does it mean? That's the important part of the question.
And yes, Quinn is a boy's name.

Yes, Quỳnh is a name for boys as well as girls. Because of the ` tonemark above the y, the sound must decline. Quỳnh is a kind of flower.

well, there is a name similar to Quinn
in vietnamese. but, when you pronounce it,
you don’t put much emphasis
on the Q. it would be spelled Quỳnh.
and pronounced like "Q-when"
i’m sorry if it’s not clear but that’s the only
way i know how to write how it’s pronounced.
though, I’m not sure if it’s really a name
for a boy because i’ve only heard it as
a girl’s name.
good luck and hope that helps^^
