How many people speak french in vietnam?

You might check if there is an Alliance Francaise au Viet Nam website. IF so, they might have such information – but don’t hold your breath!
During my recent 4 years there I ran into some middle-aged officials and a few younger Vietnamese who spoke French, but not English – but not a lot. I could probably count them on one hand.
A few. Some of them are residing to learning English. The French language, a legacy of colonial rule, is still spoken by some older Vietnamese as a second language, but is losing its popularity.
Like the other poster said, only older people.
