How is it that there are Vietnamese speakers in my dream?

I had this dream where a white guy from the army was speaking in Vietnamese to my mom...and my mom was talking in Vietnamese to him but she spoke in Cantonese to me. How is that I do not speak Vietnamese but people were speaking in Vietnamese in my dream? Well I can count some numbers in Vietnamese and that's about it.

Sometimes I have dreams in Spanish even though I’m not fluent.
You think your dream is in the language, but it isn’t, maybe some words are right but most of it is nonsense.
Wow that is so cool. I have had dreams like that but it wasn’t as memorable as yours seems to be. I have to agree a bit with the answer above mine that it may have been gibberish but still it could open up so many other ‘what ifs’ and could get quite interesting . . .
