Teacher Lee : Depending on your personal circumstances, I recommend a live-in Vietnamese lover. That’s how I learnt French : make sure she don’t speak English tho!
Lee – did you get my message? I hope to hear from you soonest.
I would suggest you to go to any vietnamese public schools to find out. Public schools are located in most of all Saigon’s districts. good luck
iam hiep nguyen can speak Vietnamese language with you.ok free
Best bet, check out the bulletin boards at the local foreign food markets. There is ALWAYS one or two stores which are "in" with the foreign community.
Its the best way to find tutors, maids, cooks or other good stuff from foreigners rotating home.
Another way is to speak with co-workers. They often know a teacher who is good and can provide a personal reference.
Lastly, contact VNA (Vietnam News Agency) in HCMC, they are offering classes in Vietnamese for Foreigners and have been getting great results.
Last choice…get a long-haired dictionary…its more fun but you could end up marrying her. Thats the risks.
I have 2 options for you
- Contact the University of Social Sience and Humanities (http://www.hcmussh.edu.vn/ussh/USSH/HomePage.aspx?p0=1) they have classes to teach Vietnamese to foreigners, then ask to meet one of the teacher, I’m pretty sure any of those teachers may work as private tutor too. You can speak to them personally, don’t worry, it’s not illegal or impolite even during their office hours working for the school.
- My brother used to be an English teacher at a Foreign languages center in Vietnam and I think he can teach you Vietnamese. It’s better to have a teacher who is young and understandable. Email me if you choose the second option so I can contact my brother in VN.
Good luck with your Vietnamese
