I'm learning Mandarin, but want to learn Vietnamese too. If most of it comes from Mandarin, I'll probably hold off so I can get more transfer when I go for Vietnamese. But if it comes mostly from Cantonese, I guess I could learn both at the same time and if so, would this help me at all with Cantonese, should I learn that further off in the future?

I work at a law office that gets alot of Vietnamese clients. It would really help for me to learn the language. Any help would be really appreciated.

How to learn to write and read in vietnamese?

I'm fluent at speaking vietnamese, but i was never taught to read or write because my mom didn't have much education. I really want to learn. i know how to read some words, but most is all from guessing. i was wondering if there was any way i could learn how to write or read online for free. Or anything that could help me at all. i want to learn the basics such as the alphabet and the dots and all the marks(sorry, i dont know how to spell it so i just said that.) lol.

I need the following paragraph translated...

When you, Trang or Hoang talk in Vietnamese to each other, I want to join in the conversation but I can't because I don't understand or speak Vietnamese well. I will be more fluent in Vietnamese when I go back to Vietnam and you should learn to English.

I know how to speak a decent amount of Vietnamese (enough to be able to live there), but I cannot read or write the language. What are some ways I can learn to read and write? I tried searching online for lessons from places around me, but I couldn't really find any (some universities offer it, but it's way too expensive), and I prefer face to face rather than online. I plan on learning while I have off this summer from college.
