I’m talking out of gratitude but both my father and I have been to Iraq and he was also in Vietnam and we were talking about how the Public is treating Soldiers better coming from Iraq then they did out of Vietnam. This time around there are no baby killer comments and we aren’t being seen as murders I was just curious what everyone thought the difference was in regards to the Military.

I cant speak for all Service Members but I can honestly say that more then half of us realize that speaking out against the war doesn’t translate in our heads as speaking out against Soldiers and is usually not taken as a hit against us or our chosen profession.

I'm trying to find software that will translate my english message to vietnamese when I type it

I've seen people asking about Vietnamese more and more on Yahoo Answer and many other sites. I do understand why people keep asking about language like Russian, Portuguese or Japanese but see no reason how come Vietnamese is now pretty popular. It's not one of 6 UN languages, Vietnamese people aren't everywhere like Chinese and I don't think Vietnam is #1 Tourists' destination or something. Anyone know?

May be I didn't explain it very well. I'm searching for percentage of Vietnamese who speak English in Vietnam:)

I met a homeless Vietnamese woman last week who was asking for spare change. I started talking to her and she started crying and said she has no family here, she's homeless and wants to return to Vietnam. I've been searching and I cannot find any answers.

I want to learn Vietnamese and/or Spanish. English is my first language and it's the only language I know fluently. I do know Spanish speaking people and Vietnamese speaking people so that I could practice conversational skills.

I am in love with an engliash speaking Vietnamese woman and have spent time with her at her home in Vietnam. Got approval of her parents & family who like me very much. I like the country and want to settle there.

I feel shamed to ask "Do you know Thailand ?" I am Thai. I found that Vietnamese and Indonesia language are available in Google translation machine but Thai. I think in South East Asia several countries such as Laos Cambodia Singapore Myanmar Vietnam Malaysia and China support studying Thai language. However, There are not much programs to promote study Thai or other applications for instance translation, dictionary, reading machine or OCR.
When I register the websites, they want me to inform the language but there is no Thai provided. What happened? Maybe my language is a minority of world language use.

I am looking for a software program for learning Vietnamese. Does anyone know of one out there that actually teaches the correct dialect (south vs north vietnam)? Thanks in advance.

But in this little town I can not find the cream they used to make it. Do you no where I can find it, if you no what I am talking about? It was a thick cream and it had Vietnamese or Asian writing on it. I used to be able to buy it at a Asian store my friends took me too.
You would make the coffee cold over ice, and really strong. I bought the little maker for the coffee there at that store.

I've found a couple of sites on google and wikitravel, but what are some other ones? I'm looking for grammar, vocabularly, writing, pronuncaiton, anything.

I had set Vietnamese Language as one of the input language through Windows Control Panel - Regional & Language Options - Text services & input language. I can type most of the wording like ê ô â ẻ ã đ and so on..but I can't find how to type like ư - alphabet with marking (looks like aprostophe) beside.

My brother is adopting a boy from Vietnam, and he is going to name the baby Quinn.

Can you tell me if there is a Vietnamese word that is pronounced the same as "Quinn" (in English), and if so, what does it mean? We've tried to look it up, but we really have no idea how to pronounce anything, so looking up spelling doesn't do much good.
